Maria recently got her first job as a machine learning engineer for the city where she lives. The city's IT solutions have been more traditional before, but they’re eager to use machine learning to improve the city’s services. The first project Maria joins consists of a small group of engineers, data scientists, and a project manager. Their goal is to create a machine learning model that will look at the previous city services, such as healthcare, wellbeing, libraries, and daycare, as well as some personal data of people, to provide better suggestions for services for them in the future. For example, a model could look at the historical data of Maria and suggest that she might be interested in using a recently opened sports facility for students. These suggestions could then be used, for example, in advertising campaigns.
